Getting Started with Accelerated Dial-Up

Accelerated dial-up is available as two options: clientless or client:

1. Clientless - dial 0845 638 9542 - provides improved web browsing due to caching, compression and optimisation of graphics. All optimisation occurs automatically to provide an easy to use solution which works 'behind the scenes' to ensure a faster browsing experience every time you dial up.

2. Client - dial 0845 638 9543 - this version compresses downloaded files, POP3 email and attachments, in addition to the standard web browsing optimisation. Users can also choose the quality of compression according to their own requirements. It requires some client software to be installed.

Installation Instructions

1. Download the software to a temporary location
2. Extract the files
3. Run the setup.exe file to install the software on your PC
4. Remove the software from your temporary directory (where you originally downloaded the software to)

• Format reduction - to improve the efficiency of web languages such as HTML, JavaScript and CSS
• Data compression - to apply general compression to regular text and specific compression to images, multimedia and certain document types
